Deterministic bounds calculation
New applications such as voice over IP, video on demand or
distributed interactive games require quantitative guarantees in terms of
latency, throughput and loss rate. This project focused on the temporal
dimension of the quality of service, commonly represented by two parameters:
end-to-end response time and end-to-end jitter. More precisely, the goal of
this project was to determine deterministic bounds on these parameters for a
set of coexisting flows in a network. The main contribution was the
extension of an innovative approach, called trajectory approach and
developed by our team. Indeed, a fine analysis was led on a specific
distributed scheduling algorithm well suited for taking into account time
requirements, namely EDF (Earliest Deadline First).
